Grown in the humid highland forests of Alta Verapaz at elevations that produce an aromatic complexity no other origin can replicate. "The Study was inspired by a specific kind of room. Not a modern room. An old one. Dark wood. Shelves of things that matter. The smell of leather and paper and something that has been burning slowly for hours.

I wanted to capture the feeling of inhabiting that space — not visiting it. The bergamot and candied orange in the opening were my way of keeping it from feeling heavy before the leather and rosemary arrive and ground everything in that dark green atmosphere.

The base is where I spent the most time. Oakmoss is a restricted ingredient in modern perfumery — increasingly rare and increasingly valuable. Using it here was a deliberate choice. It gives The Study a quality that synthetic bases simply cannot replicate. An ancientness. A rootedness. The feeling that this fragrance has existed somewhere for a very long time and you have simply been fortunate enough to find it.
